Why I Started a Blog

My first flight. I do not remember it as I was only a handful of months old, flying a Virgin Australia 737-800 from Adelaide to Sydney, where I now live. The first time I went to Britian, where I am from, and I saw the Etihad A380 that I was about to fly from London Heathrow to Abu Dhabi and onto Sydney, I fell in love. The engine sounds, the smell, the seats, the crew, everything was so special and, for a young mind like me, was amazing.

Hi, my names Tom and I have loved planes for my whole life. I was first interested in planes when I was very young, and got into aviation a few years ago, and I have been plane spotting a couple of times at London Gatwick, read many aircraft books, watching many flight reviews and have almost 30 model planes, including some quite rare ones.

The thing that interests me the most about aircraft is the culture and history of air travel. The golden age back in the 80’s and 90’s with the 747 ruling the skies is a time that, if I could, I would go to to experience that time. The magic of aviation and flying, which seems so impossible, is so intriguing and is something that I have always been interested in.

The reason that I decided to make the blog, rather than keep my passion private is that I want to spread my thoughts and news on airlines. I don’t really know anyone else who is truly interested in aircraft and many people I know hate flying, and so I don’t have, really, anyone to talk to, so it gives me a major incentive to write about what I love. I am really passionate about making this work and so thank you for taking the time reading this article.
